Specialist steam cleaning, lime based re-pointing and masonry conservation works to the Clifton and Leigh Woods towers phased over two years.
The works involved careful cleaning works including the provision of a water runoff management system to protect the local environment. Accurately matching the original lime/ash based mortars, as well as undertaking the removal of damaging rusting iron cramps and fixings and some selective stone replacements. Application of a sacrificial lime based ‘sheltercoat’ to the Bath stone elements and miscellaneous other works including leadwork repairs, lime rendering, rope access repairs and assisting with the installation of a cathodic ironwork protection system.
