Carrek Limited was established in May 1994 by Piers Denny and Richard Thompson.  Prior to this Piers Denny had served a full apprenticeship as a Stonemason/Carver at Wells and Chartres Cathedral as well as completing the  renowned course at the International School for the Training of Craftsmen in our Architectural Heritage based in Venice.  Richard Thompson was apprenticed at Wells Cathedral under Richard F. Marsh, and was a founding member of the 'Wells Conservation Centre', whose projects included works to The West Front of Wells Cathedral, Rochester Cathedral, Kingston Lacey House & Audley End to name but a few.  Piers and Richard worked together very successfully on numerous prestigious building conservation projects throughout the country during the mid 1980's and early 1990's before deciding to found Carrek.

The Company currently employs over 50 full time Conservation craftsmen and women, as well as network of trusted subcontractors in allied trades.

Finally, in case you were wondering, the name CARREK means 'Great Rock or Stone' in Cornish.
